This project is under the instruction of Tom R. Chambers at Raul Yzaguirre School For Success (Houston, Texas, U.S.A.). It is in keeping with the exhibition, "The FACE: Evolution of Portrait in Photography" at the State Novosibirsk Historical Museum, Russia, February 16 - March 14, 2011. Mr. Chambers has four images (Hometown Tom, Tube Tom, Apple Tom, Photo Tom) from his Tom Series project in the exhibition. He challenged the students in his after school program to use GIMP [Photoshop equivalent] to parallel the exhibition in Russia. A connection to the real world ... in this case, paralleling an actual exhibition with the possibility of their [students] work being shown as well ... is a motivating factor for the students to gain more confidence in what they do, and have a sense of self-worth.
