RYSS College Prep Academy "Open House" [Technology Applications, Grade 7], 10-16-2012

Students' family members attended the RYSS College Prep Academy "Open House" [grades 6-8]. The photos below show 7th grade students with their family members in Mr. Chambers' Technology Applications class. They are showing their project, a PowerPoint presentation about Hispanic Heritage Month.

This is a very special encounter with the student [child of the family] accessing his/her project on the computer, and then showing/describing it to the family members. Hardware/software skills are demonstrated through the student's actions of using the computer, and cognitive/creative skills are indicated via the creation of the PowerPoint presentation. The "Hispanic Heritage" theme of the project also brings the student and family members closer together.

Permission by the family members was given for the use of these images.
